ICOMET GROUP can build a housing that is protected against electromagnetic or radio frequency waves as well as a housing that prevents their spread to the outside.
When designing a room protected from electromagnetic radiation, windows, doors, ventilation ducts and technical passages should be taken into consideration. Electrically conductive elements entering or leaving the EMC shielding must be equipped with radio filters to prevent them from becoming antennas and thus reducing the overall performance of the installation.
Typical applications of shielding against electromagnetic radiation are data centers. After all, electromagnetic radiation can cause serious malfunctions to the servers. Typical examples of electromagnetic radiation that can disrupt the functioning of servers are GSM masts, portable radio transmitters, mobile telephones, … But magnetic storms, caused by the shock wave of solar winds, can also cause serious disturbances. The most extreme danger is a side effect of the use of nuclear weapons. This releases a so-called EMP induction that can destroy electronic equipment at great distances.
Another reason to protect a room from electromagnetic radiation is to protect servers from espionage. When an electronic device is switched on, the electronic radiation from the device can be collected and processed. Information can possibly be obtained or derived from this collected (residual) radiation. The unintentional release of radiation containing information is referred to as compromising radiation. Electronic devices can thus be tapped. Protecting premises where sensitive information is handled ensures that this radiation cannot be eavesdropped.
Building a Faraday cage
With its BUNKERKIT, ICOMET GROUP offers two solutions for building a Faraday cage. The Bunkerkit panels are interconnected with bolts in both solutions. It is possible to fit doors and windows in both solutions, but limiting the number of windows is recommended as it lowers the security level.
1 Interconnected panels
By joining the Bunkerkit panels together by means of joints, higher levels of electromagnetic protection performance are achieved. This option also improves the sealing level of the room or wall.
It achieves isolation performance up to 100 dB in a frequency range from 09 KHz to 18 GHz.
Combination with burglar resistance is possible.
2 Panels covered with metal foil on the inside
The finish with metal foil on the inside of the Bunkerkit panels provides the EMC shielding. The electromagnetic protection is equivalent to that of a copper shielded room.
This type of shielding is offered as a solution for more modest requirements yet is still valid as a response to market demands, they guarantee a decrease of 50-60 dB over a frequency range between 9 KHz and 18 GHz with a cost modest way to use the structures of the walls and thus to be able to coat all possible solutions and even complex curved surfaces with shielding fabric.
Combination with burglary resistance and bullet resistance is possible.
